Decking in France - Page 2 - Hot tub surrounds in the French alps.

Page 2.

A little breather from working on the decking, and a quick foray up the road with the camera. The scenery was breathtaking - helped no end by the beautiful weather, but the snow was about to happen, so on with the job of getting the decking project finished in time for the ski season.

There had already been a quick flurry, but amazingly, work continued just with T shirt. Totally different climatic conditions.

Decking finished around the hot tub The decking sub frame took a bit of working out.

At some points, the deck sub frame was allowed to rest upon the stone walls that surrounded what was once a 'pool'. Normally this would have been an advantage, but owing to the uneven final course, it led to a few construction hold-ups. The newels were constructed from timber posts - well treated and simply planed down to smoothen up a bit. They also acted as the main supporting posts for the perimeter of the raised deck section.

One end of the raised section of deck under the hot tub has now been completed, but now for a little hold-up for materials promised, to be delivered. Never mind, out with the camera.

Part of the journey to our destination!

The surrounding view - only accessible vial hairpin bends on the alpine road - were amazing. As I took this photo, a cyclist was wending his ay up the steep inclines. I did not stop to say hello and my 'French' leves a little bit to be desired.
